Trot Your Horses

Applewood Stables is a full service riding experience. We have horses at all levels for people at all levels. We have a lesson program, a leasing program & a wonderful show circuit, we are home to multiple state champions, horses & riders.  We also offer beginner lessons for those just getting started.

Our Business

We believe in safety first and your happiness. We are a fun and casual learning experience all about kids, family and our animals. Our farm is full of four legged friends for you and your family to enjoy. We offer the best learning experience in town and pride ourselves on our relaxed easy atmosphere. We like good people, because we are good people.

Me and St. Alystar, barn name Alex, at 4 days old. Alex was born in Conyers Ga., at Rockdale stables. Alex is a grandson of the great race horse Alydar (who may be best known for his loss for the triple crown at the Derby to Affirmed in the late 70's) he was bred to my foundation quarter horse mare, Fergie. Alex is preparing for his debut into the show ring Spring of 2008.

Who We Are

We are owned by a wonderful family that continues to provide us with the opportunity to work daily with children, adults and their families. They provide us a place to pursue our passion working with horses.

We have a barn manager who is on site during the week all day and provides the barn with order. She is always happy to assist you with scheduling, payments, our programs & other questions and concerns.

We have 3 qualified riding instructors who are professionals in their own disciplines and who are still expanding their skills by continuing to ride and learn.

Megan Burder who traines the adults and children who show in the local, state and national levels. Megan specializes in Hunter Under Saddle & Western Pleasure.

Carrie Humber who traines all beginners in general horsemanship including the timed events and Western Pleasure.

Kenan Ashurst who traines beginners and their horses and those who show in the english events specializing in hunt seat, hunters, jumpers and basic dressage.  Kenan also traines problem horses and those who you wish to begin a show career.

We have the most wonderful barn help around. They help us keep our busy afternoons safe and happy for both our horses and riders.

We also enjoy the farm with our barn dogs and our miniature horse and goats. They are sure to excite the little ones.
